The Tourist
by Olen Steinhauer
This weekend my friend Sarah mentioned that we spend our adult lives searching for books that captivate and absorb us the way our childhood books did. I thought about that idea after I stayed in bed this morning to finish The Tourist. In this case though I was trying to find another great spy novel like my all-time favorite, The Bourne Identity. Although not as spectacular as that book, I thoroughly enjoyed this modern spy novel. For anyone sad that the traditional spy novel of the cold war is gone, look no further. Steinhauer has now written two books about Milo Weaver, CIA agent extraordinaire. Great beach read.
