I actually enjoyed this more than I expected to. It’s not LMM, of course, but I felt that the author did Anne justice in this telling. The first few chapters were hard to get through and I was worried that the whole book would just be full of sadness, but there were lots of bright spots in the remaining story. Some of the characters and happenings did at times feel a little forced, almost like the author was trying too hard to make it Anne-esque, but for the most part it seemed like it’s how she would have really seen things. Mostly, it just made me eager to read AoGG again.
