For my 3rd & 4th grade students- Lola Levine is a half-Peruvian, half- Jewish 2nd grader. Her little brother Ben is in Kindergarten. Lola’s parents are creative and supportive of their children- mom is a writer, dad is a painter. Lola and Ben love soccer and are very talented. After super competitive Lola accidentally injures a classmate during a recess soccer game, classmates start calling her “Mean Lola Levine.” Lola accepts responsibility for her actions and her best friend Josh Blot sticks up for her, so everything works out in the end.
