The Invite by A.J. McDine

5.0

One thing I love about reading, is finding a new author that you love and need to immediately read their entire backlist. That is exactly how I felt after reading this book. I couldn't stop thinking about it.

An invitation to die for.... it certainly is that!

When four school friends receive an anonymous invitation to a twenty-year reunion, set in a gorgeous country house, they all assume that it can only be from one person; their American friend, Elle. Known for her pranks, it feels exactly like something she would do. The extravagance of a courier delivered invitation, an all expenses paid weekend away, but no identification on the actual invite. Tara, Claire, Megan and Lizzie all jump at the opportunity to catch up. I would be excited at the chance too! However, the girls ended up with a little more than they bargained for...

I demolished this book in mere hours. The twists and suspense brings old school friends together with fatal consequences. As we read from multiple points of view, and get the back story to the key characters, the tension builds, the mystery picks up and culminates in a massive twist at the end.

If you're looking for a book you can't put down then I highly suggest picking up The Invite. I will be adding this author's backlist to the top of my neverending tbr.
