This is a lovely little book with well crafted characters in an established world. I got a little impatient with the narrative for a bit in the beginning but Kade picked up the pace and covered a ton of ground in this first novel all while twisting the usual fantasy tropes. Book sich as this are usually epic in scale and page length but this novel is only 300+ pages which is nice! I’m looking forward to the next one in the series.
