The ending made this whole book worth it. I’m not going to lie, it was slow for the first half and honestly extremely aggravating. For one thing, the whole book made it seem like Agatha and Tedros were not compatible at all. I literally could not be convinced otherwise. And on top of that Sophie was awful too. She killed people. In cold blood. And she just got forgiven and let off the hook like nothing ever happened.

Despite the fact that I think this series could’ve been a whole book shorter by cutting out all the unnecessary drama, I think overall it was pretty good. It was unique and well written and it had an engaging plot that drove the series for three books. Will I be reading the other books? Absolutely not. The story ended where it needed to and that’s that.

But… I think this last book did a fantastic job of tying up all of the loose ends that needed tying and it was emotionally satisfying. Not only that but I felt like the main conflict was appropriately escalated into an amazing, but genre friendly battle to win it all. It felt like a credit to to series to have such a well thought out and perfect ending.

So even though the road to get to that ending was windy and aggravating, I think it was worth it. Definitely an amazing YA series.
