True Crime: Der Abgrund in dir: Was den Menschen zum Mörder macht
by Romy Hausmann
This is a five star read based on how much I enjoyed it and immediately sank into the story. It is also a five star read because it deals with the ethics of «true crime» authors and podcasters, and the responsibility they have.
In this book, bestselling author Romy Hausmann, presents eleven bizarre crimes. Most of them are of such a nature that any author who imagined such would not get the idea to fly, being too unrealistic. I had not heard or read about any of the cases before, amazingly enough.
The unsolved case of Phoebe in Australia is what ties the book together. The chapters between the cases are interspersed with Romy’s contact with the dead girl’s mother and grandfather. This book dwells more than usual on those who were lost.
Listened to in German. Bought this audiobook ages ago, but only picked it up after I saw that a Norwegian edition will be released.
