I loved how Ali Hazelwood brought her signature touch of a smart, capable heroine with Misery's talents in computers and math, while also diving into a paranormal world of vampires and werewolves. The mystery, alliances, and betrayals kept me hooked, though the unnecessary focus on canine anatomy during intimate scenes felt a bit awkward. It didn’t detract too much from the romance or story, but wasn’t needed. Thérèse Plummer’s narration took some time to get used to, but ultimately grew on me, and Will Damron did a great job with Lowe’s emotional moments. I hope Hazelwood writes more paranormal stories!
