I appreciate the creativeness of this story and the idea to present a modern telling of the Baba Yaga myth. However, there was just something lacking in the actual telling for me. I could not quite connect with any of the characters and never felt any real suspense building, despite all the action occurring in the story. There was a lot of inventiveness, but it all just fell a bit flat for me.
