I really, really loved this story. It looses half a star for me because I think the "Mr. Rhodes" continues on way too long into the book and the protective element between the MC's feels over the top at times. But otherwise, it's just such a delightful read.

The tension that's built felt sooooo good. I read a review on another book the other day that said something to the effect of newer romance releases not recognizing the value of the slow burn, and then randomly ended up reading this amazing representation of the slow burn. There's still some payoff with steamy scenes, and while totally enjoyable, they are certainly not the highlight of the book. By the end of the story, I was rooting SO hard for the emotional element of the love story.

I love the tensions in the back end of the book.
I'm never a fan of third act breakups, and while there are fights and problems between the characters, it's not a third act breakup. There's no banging of my head against the wall wondering why people aren't communicating. It's just such a story of real love that's been deeply developed and is being cherished even in moments of conflict.
