This book was good, but the writing style didn't really mesh with me. It wasn't the poetry, that was actually better than I expected since I have little experience with poetry. I can't really explain what it was. Maybe the characters? Because we were constantly in Amal's pov we only got to know other characters superficially and with his judgement and knowledge. I would have loved getting to know the other characters a bit more.
