This is a fantasy romance book in which neither the romance or the fantasy elements are the focus. While I do enjoy a good heist, the way the romance takes such a backseat to the heist struck me as a little odd. I don't object to shoddy worldbuilding as much in a fantasy romance, since it exists to prop up the relationship that is being developed. This book offered neither a well-developed world or a well-developed relationship, and the heist, while fine and interesting, was not how this book was marketed. It's got the cozy romance cover and a description that gives a hint of the magic. Pick this up if you like heists and family drama, because that's where the focus of the narrative is.
Moderate: Abandonment
Minor: Suicide and Rape
