Fever
by Lauren DeStefano
I've read this series before and it still holds up rather well years later.
Though after re-reading this book I remember as to why I don't remember it as well.
The passing of time and the events happening are difficult to track throughout the novel sometimes. There are several dream and drug-induced sequences that are bizarre. IT was rather hard for me to understand what the mc was going through. Though I also believe that was part of the author's point.
I was really able to get through this book because of the first and last in the series. I knew the outcome so whatever was in this book didn't deter me.
Either way, this book works for a second within a series, but not well alone.
