Seven Surrenders by Ada Palmer
4.0
I enjoyed this one a lot, possibly more than the first book? I think it helped that a lot of the world building and stakes were already clear, and I also liked how this book leaned more into the weird theological side of its themes. Maybe just other things going on in my life, but for each of these books I found myself feeling really anxious as I was listening to the last third or so of them 🤷
On the whole I'm still honestly not quite sure how to feel about what the series is doing with gender, but at the very least I think it's interesting.
For the audiobook, I was a little sad to lose the narrator from book one, but I thought that the new narrator was actually really great as well.
