Until We Meet Again by Christina Lee

3.0

Until We Meet Again is a friends and roommates to lovers, bi-awakening, opposites attract college romance.

Emil Ettinger and Bruce (Bones) Lanning are going on their second year living together at Roosevelt College and while they couldn’t be more different - Emil is a dancer and in the marching band and Bones is a football player - they work really well as roommates. When Bones starts to notice things about Emil that he only noticed in women before, things get interesting between them. Bones is trying to figure out who he is with the one person he feels attracted to but Emil puts up his walls to keep himself from falling for his straight roommate.

I felt like so much of this book was about Bones - his relationship with his parents, his decision to pursue a new major, his sexuality - and Emil got left in the dust a bit. Even when they’re experimenting, Emil doesn’t even give Bones the time to fully explain how he’s feeling. Eventually they both get honest about their feelings but it felt like it was way too late and I wasn’t invested in them being together by then. They were sweet together when they finally laid it all out there, but it felt like it took way too much time for them to get to that point.

Like XOXO, this is a pretty low steam, low angst read for a college romance. If you’re looking for an easy read, this one may be for you.
