Polar Express 30th Anniversary Edition
by Chris Van Allsburg
“At one time most of my friends could hear the bell, but as years passed, it fell silent for all of them. Even Sarah found one Christmas that she could no longer hear it’s sweet sound. Though I’ve grown old, the bell still rings for me as it does for all who truly believe.”
That will forever be one of my favorite last pages of a book.
I’ve owned this book for years, owned and seen the movie a million times, but have never read this.
I had the pleasure of listening to this on audio, narrated by the AMAZING Liam Neeson, while following along. Excellent experience. 10/10 would recommend.
Even though you get more of a story with the movie, the book stands up. It’s a beautiful story about believing in the spirit of Christmas. Just like wishing my Hogwarts letter came on my 11th birthday, I am wishing for the Polar Express to show up on my doorstep on Christmas Eve.
I loved this and will continue to re read this every Christmas.
