The Dating Disaster by Saxon James
4.0

I’m not the biggest fan of college age romance, but I wanted to keep up with the Sadenverse, especially after meeting Felix in the second DMC book. I gotta say, Marshall saved this book for me.
Felix is a big brat! I didn’t like how he reacted to his parents, especially his dad in DMC, but he was even more of brat in this book, which is 2ish years later. I understood some of his reasoning for why he acts like he does, and I don’t begrudge him for his love languages, but his reactions to things still felt childish. Meanwhile, Marshall was just so reasonable and sweet and truly a teddy bear!
Something I did really like here was the use of the miscommunication trope. Yes it’s annoying when people could easily say what they mean and then there’s no problem, but I liked how there’s a reason for the miscommunication here. Both are so wrapped up in their own worldview and wanting to feel loved in that context that they struggled to see where the other person was coming from.
