Journey to Munich by Jacqueline Winspear

5.0

Once again, thoroughly enjoyed Maisie Dobbs and her journey through life.

Maisie is sent to Munich to retrieve an inventor/publisher, who has been arrested and sent to Dachau. She goes in the guise of his daughter (who is ailing and can't go herself) as the Nazis will only release their prisoner into the hands of a family member.

The mission is secret, and takes her into Germany as the Nazis are poised to invade Austria. It is a dangerous and scary time and place to be, especially disguised as someone else.

As always, she learns a lot on this mission, about herself and about forgiveness and healing. As well as about the dangers confronting the world in the evil she meets in Germany.
