Beautiful story about the bond between a boy and his fox. Lots of mature themes - death, war, abuse - that I would suggest reading along with your kids if they are younger than 10.

I'm doing an author study in Sandy's 4th grade class on Sara Pennypacker, so reading everything I can by this author in preparation.
