hyacinths 's review for:
The Notebooks of Malte Laurids Brigge
by Rainer Maria Rilke, M.D. Herter Norton
reading this is like putting yourself entirely at the submission of a fever dream, with all of its non-linear incoherence and sleep logic. it is a little overwhelming and something which, for me at least, has to be taken in bits and pieces (it took me over a year to finish it), but I love that peculiar brand of Profound Introspective Rambling™, and in the end I found this an extremely rewarding read.
