I was really rooting for this book and Penelope and Colin's story..

Sadly, I feel this is the worst one yet. There was no romance, no tension, no relationship building between these two. The entire book felt like we were reading about a friendship on the brink of collapse and then BAM marriage. Colin and Penelope both have such strong personalities but nothing came through with them individually nor together.

I have watched the series before I read the books so finding out who Lady Whistledown is wasn't a surprise for me & I do feel like that maybe I would have enjoyed this book more if I didn't know that part already. This book focuses heavily on Lady Whistledown and I think that took away from Colin and Penelope's relationship outside of that.

I was expecting so much more and Colin was such a bore and also so selfish and "what about me" "poor me" the entire time I couldn't stand it. This is the only one so far that I am hoping and wishing the series does better with!
