This was a good story but my goodness the writing really could’ve used several more sessions with an editor. I’ve never been more distracted by odd punctuation choices in my life. I was certain, at one point, that it must’ve been translated from another language and that’s why it felt so jilted and confused. Alas, it is an American novel that just would’ve benefited from better attention to detail.
Having said that, I did enjoy the story. I especially liked the ending. I’d still recommend this to people, but with the warning that some of the pacing and writing is a bit off.
