The Word for Woman is Wilderness by Abi Andrews

5.0

I’m not really sure where to start with how much I loved this book, it drew me in from the first page and I was completely wrapped up in Erin’s journey. The formatting of this book was fantastic, the journal style, with photos and bits of conversations throughout the “entries” not only made this fiction book feel like non-fiction but also allowed me to be completely invested in Erin and what she was doing. I worried (and frustrated) about her as she hitched hiked across Canada, I cheered when she accomplished something novel on her own, and I felt her desire to prove that women are just as capable as men as it was my own journey (which let’s be honest is actually true). I have never read something quite like this before and I know this book will stay with me for a long time.
