One reason why Barbara Moore remains one of my favourite writers on tarot is her easy emphasis on using it and adapting it in ways that work for you, as well as allowing your practise to evolve. That, of course, is apparent in spades in this book, which covers basic groundwork specifically to give you a framework to build upon - and to alter what you learn and pick up elsewhere, not solely to create from scratch.

Many personal notes on how she reads and alters things herself give an excellent idea of how to begin customising for yourself, and a variety of spreads are presented with suggestions for how to shift them to fit your purposes or reading style. As well, she provides tips on figuring out your reading style, a concept I rarely see touched on in general, and some historical notes and variations to broaden the base styles and methods you might incorporate into your own practise.
