I actually liked this book more than the first one. There was more explanation of the political structure of the world, which created a depth to the galaxy that was missing a bit from the first one.
I also liked focal shift from Cyra and Akos's relationship to their relationships to other people. Friendship and familial love became a greater force than romantic love, which was a refreshing take for the particular genre.
I loved the audio work with this book. It was well paced and the reader's voices fit the characters.
