Rating 3* out of 5. I'm sorely disappointed. This book started off well, with Lord Vetinari contemplating the dangers and possibilities of steam trains. Then it dwindled into some sort of political game where some rogue dwarves sabotaging clack towers and whatnot. Their ruler must take a stand. Or something. I don't know if it was the book or my general level of restlesness and inattention which made the last 300 pages seem like a total waste of time. I could barely follow the plot. If this is on me or the book, as I said, I'm not sure. Possibly a combination. The only thing I AM sure of is that I wasn't blown away into Discworld and mesmerized into forgetting my woes.
