The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

5.0

Listen, does my absolute love of the hunger games influence this review a little bit? Absolutely! There was something so bittersweet about reading this and seeing so many parallels and remarks pointing back at the trilogy. Not only that, I felt it answered a lot of questions about why things were the way that they were in the trilogy. I absolutely adored this book and am baffled by how intriguing and honestly scary it was to see the world of the games from a capital perspective. Some parts I had to set the book down and walk away. Honestly it was really good and my little 12 year old self who adored the hunger games is very pleased!
