A scary book about the seductive lure of authoritarianism. We already see it: the dawn of the era of Trump and Boris Johnson. This book describes how this can happen in a very accessible, anecdotal way. Easy answer are very attractive to a good deal of people, who do not like to live with ambiguity and uncertainty. The world is rarely black and white, it is all shades of grey. Some can't handle this. We may see the end of democracy in some parts of the West already in my lifetime. The trend is going the wrong way in many places. Just look to Poland or Hungary.
