Did not finish book. Stopped at 16%.
Libby/audio.

DNF at 16%.

So I'm giving up on this one. I thought i could wade through the sludge, but i simply cannot.

This authors voice is really grating on me. She really likes to emphasize her feminist themes, and pairing that with a Cinderella retelling for people who hate Cinderella, a whole bunch of debauchery, and the fact that i really dislike the Narrators for the Audiobook, and I've got to put this down. Maybe that is unfair. Perhaps the story gets better. I thought i could push past the awkward first steps. The plot is mildly interesting.

Gabriel seems to be a decent fellow, though he practices hiding that. The dragons seem kind of cool. There is some sort of spy plot going on with his brothers. I love Cinderella.

Adriana is insufferable. Not only is she a gossip columnist/reporter (instant turn off for me) bent on destroying Gabriel for unknown reasons, plying unsuspecting marks with her feminine attributes, all while internally reprimanding them for being leacherous sexual harassers, to milk them for an inside scoop, but i fail to see why she still lives with her horrible stepmother, since she is in fact the only income for her family, and could easily move herself, her fathers precious trinkets(which the stepmother blackmails and controls her with) and her sister away, and support them alone. It simply makes zero sense. She is employed, and her stepmother spends all of her income. She barely eats.

Needless to say, everything about this is pushing me away, rather than reeling me in. It's a shame, but pairing that with all of the other content I'm not interested in, I'm giving up now.
