Rhett Butler's People by Donald McCaig
4.0

As a huge fan of [b:Gone with the Wind|18405|Gone With The Wind|Margaret Mitchell|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1166913011s/18405.jpg|3358283], I have always felt like the abrupt ending left to many unanswered questions from me. This book gave me much more satisfaction about the storyline. I know that this author was selected by the Mitchell estate to continue on the story of the Butlers which made me feel more comfortable with this "authorized" storyline.

The characters reflected both the book and movie versions abd gave me the much needed closer that I seeked. I was very intrigued by all the background given on Rhett's family and how central they were to this storyline.

For me, I was impressed by the writing (a little too descriptive at times), and felt that McCaig did a fantastic job at telling this well known story from other angles.
