Noble Roots by Drew Hayes
1.0

Meandering, forgettably boring, excessively long, and mostly pointless. I don't know what went wrong here. I like the characters. I was invested in the story, but I really wish I had stopped reading after Going Rogue. It only got worse from there.

To my great regret over the lost days of my life spent reading this book, I did finish Noble Roots. But I would be hard-pressed to tell you anything about it, since the plot was so overly detailed yet so boring that I forgot it even as I was reading it. By the end of the book, I had even forgotten why the characters were at the Ardanes' manor in the first place - that was over 700 pages ago, after all! So the "twist" ending was completely lost on me because I couldn't remember the setup.

More is not better when I comes to story-writing, and I would recommend skipping this book.
