I would have enjoyed this book much more if we lived in a world where everything always fell perfectly into place!

The entire plot felt quite far-fetched, as though I was wearing starry-eyed reading glasses. Ava was such a lovable character I genuinely sympathized with, but I felt disconnected from Emi and Charlotte. Emi has a seemingly perfect life apart from the ex-girlfriend situation, and Charlotte's character seemed like an addition to the story just to give Emi a best friend. We learn little about Charlotte, and she contributes just as little to the plot, IMO.

I wish we had gotten more about Ava and her backstory. I thought that Emi and Charlotte didn't understand how serious Ava's situation was and saw it as easier to handle than it was. I also wish the relationship between Morgan and Emi was more fleshed out, so I could have understood it better (the whole time I was rolling my eyes, like 'girl, leave her already!'), likewise for Emi and Ava, who deserved better!

As a lover of everything film, I thought I would like this more, but what I can say is I loved the idea and setting of this book, and I love you, Ava Garden Wilder!
