The Women Could Fly
by Megan Giddings
A thick Queer fantasy that tastes comforting like oatmeal with cinnamon and apple chunks. Author strikes a balance of modern world characters that easily blur the lines between reality and imagination. A few times, I found the words hard to swallow, letting them linger in my mouth.
The Women Could Fly is set in a time when witches are still alive, or perhaps they have always been here, and the most dangerous person to society is an unmarried woman. The main character is excellent bi-representation and the author did a perfect job showcasing equal attraction. Would give this a 3.5 just from times the writing kinda lulled or dragged on.
