Shadow Scars by Zoe Perdita

This story delivered delivered on the paranormal aspect. I love paranormal and urban fantasy stories, and this story has those elements in spades. However, it has a couple glaring flaws that prevented me from enjoying it more. First, the Seth and Conner spend way too much rehashing their thoughts about lying to other about their paranormal status. It’s boring, trite, and repetitive, and fails to create meaningful tension or advance the plot. Second, Em, the daughter of Seth’s deceased partner, talks like an anthropomorphic guilt trip, not a child
