Christmas in Evergreen is a delightful and enjoyable Christmas story by Nancy Naigle, the queen of holiday stories. Reading this book gives you a taste of Christmas in July. This is a book based on a Hallmark Holiday Movie by the same name.
We have the heroine, Allie, a veterinarian, leaving her home town of Evergreen, the town that loves Christmas, for a new job closer to her long distance, her on again, off again boyfriend. The closer the time comes for her to move, the more Allie second guesses her decision, at least subconsciously, delaying her trip.
The hero is a single day who only wants his daughter to have a very merry Christmas. After losing his wife and Zoe losing her mother, physician Ryan plans on staying as far away from the snow and memories. Therefore, he planned for them to go on a cruise in Florida. However, when a snow storm grounds their plane they make a small detour to Evergreen which turns into an extended stay and Ryan and Zoe are bombarded with the Christmas spirit along with a lovely lady to go with it.
From the first time these three meet there is an unmistakable connection. While Ryan and Zoe are temporarily in Evergreen, the magic of the town and people greatly affects them. Each one these three separately make wishes on a magical snow globe, the connection of their wishes demonstrates how fate and the heart often understand and know what one needs well before they realize.
Ms. Naigle wrote a wonderfully heartwarming story that reflects the magic of Christmas and finding love. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend this book to other readers.
