Long Walk to Freedom: The Autobiography of Nelson Mandela by Nelson Mandela

challenging informative inspiring reflective

5.0

nelson mandela's autobiography spans from his childhood to the 1994 general elections in south africa. in it, he describes himself as a man committed to freedom, to justice, to the end of apartheid and everything such an end entails. for someone who did not learn a lot about apartheid, this was informative and enriching. a man who gave everything to a cause he believed in, he describes not only his own life but also the genesis of many political parties and movements in south africa -- and how he hoped to build bridges between them towards their common goal of a free nation where everyone is equal.
