Hungry Hearts: 13 Tales of Food & Love by Elsie Chapman

4.0

"I've always found putting food on top of my feelings is a much more pleasant way to deal with any kind of crisis than actually, you know, dealing with the crisis."

I liked all the stories, and I love how they’re interconnected and how the same characters and places kept popping up. Each story is unique and yet fits together with the others.
Hungry Hearts explores themes of family, friendship, love in all its forms, growing up, grief, anxiety, sexuality, learning how to move on from mistakes, and more.It is nice how all these feelings can be connected with food.

"Music was like water in the way it drowns out things you don't want to deal with or things that are hard."
