Becky Chambers' final book in the Wayfarer's series is another gentle, thoughtful, imaginative volume.  Chambers' imagination of a multi-species world is colored with utopian visions of co-existence, of friendships across difference, while also illustrating that a harmonious world doesn't resolve grief and difficulty. In this book, more than the others, the dark sides of the utopic world are drawn out: its origins include colonialism, planetary-destruction, species-ism, and opportunistic use of a collective for single-species enrichment.  These issues come to the fore in conversations between characters--scenes of tenderness and rage beautifully written. The more I read of Becky Chambers the more I want to read! can't wait for the new series coming out this summer.
