It was a good pallet cleanser. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to someone, but if you need a light hearted book and are a fan of the genre, it’s a fast and not cringy read.

Tate was a likable enough lead. I feel she was kind of unappreciative of her privilege in nepotism with her father, the world famous, mega-star actor, but she seemed mostly aware of her white privilege so there’s that at least. My problem really came in with Sam. Sam is a wet blanket - let’s be honest. Name one characteristic about Sam that isn’t hot writer. Most of all I have major beef with Sam for writing multiple sex scenes in a movie about his MOTHER figure. I get that it was loosely (but mostly) based on them and their love story, and that sex sells and all but COME ON. This gave me major major ick. Nana was a weird character but I liked her mom. Overall, it was fine but not great.
