A madcap, rapid fire blast of sci-fi. While I love the pace of the chaos, I wish some of the character development and emotional punches were a little more slowly rolled out. As is, some of the things that ought to be major emotional hits come across as unearned. I’m excited to continue with the series, and I’ve seen them all lined up at a used book store.
The art is a lush, modern, European sci-fi affair, with allusions to hedonistic sword & sorcery classics.
