Like a raucous soap opera. Dostoevsky’s genius in action. Sometimes pinch myself to remember these were written so long ago, not in English, and yet the way he captures such specific, relatable scenarios of heightened human emotion and theatre. Really knows how to paint a scene. Laughed a lot at some moments of this.
