As with any anthology featuring multiple authors, there will be some stories you enjoy and others that won’t resonate with you. The stories in this book were fairly polarizing for me. While I enjoyed the writing by Larissa Pham, R.O. Kwon, Carmen Maria Machado, Garth Greenwell, and Zeyn Joukhadar, the rest of the stories were not particularly engaging to me. Either the character development or plot were flat, the writing style was abrasive (I had to choke down, no pun intended, the chapter by Chris Kraus), or the topics covered were difficult to read (though that was to be expected - the book is about kink, after all).
