Strong content warning for disordered eating, bulimia, binge eating.

That said — this book is so different than anything else I’ve read, including her books. It focuses so closely on family and sisterhood and those tensions, plus Jayne’s struggle with eating disorders, and there is a love interest but it’s a C plot at most. And the ending is pretty abrupt but it works.
Jayne is in recovery but it’s not the focus of the book which was cool. June is literally still in surgery and we presume she makes it out. Jayne is talking openly wigh her mom finally.
the characters don’t really heal in this book, or at least not until the end. And I loved that because we got to be in the messy middle with them for more time.
