by Jodi Picoult
Jodi Picoult is one of those authors where you usually know what sort of tale you're in for when you pick up one of her books. This one had a few more twists than I'm used to seeing from her, a few more threads woven together.
Some of her characters you like, some you don't and some just make you irritated (there's usually at least one character which I feel we're supposed to identify with that I just want to strangle - this time it was Ross). The supernatural elements seemed whimsical rather than frightening. Overall the story was engaging.
