The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan

5.0

4.5 stars; really enjoyed this one! was absolutely hyped after son of neptune and this did not disappoint. i expected the seven to all be buddy-buddy immediately, and was pleasantly surprised when things presented themselves a lot more complicated than that. piper absolutely feels like a product of the time at which she was written — a “not like other girls” to end all “not like other girls” girls — which was sad, because i really enjoyed her in the lost hero. piper character assassination aside, i loved the way leo, hazel, and frank learned how to fit together; how percy and jason struggled being the golden boys of their respective camps and ultimately found that some of their greatest strengths were when fighting together; and finally, finally, FINALLY getting annabeth pov!! what a cliffhanger to leave off on (haha) — i’m really excited for house of hades!
