Erik Wilder didn't plan on becoming Lydia Pierson's bodyguard, but when Luke Pierson asks him to help get his daughter out of the rut she's been in for two months after a car accident, Erik can't say no. Erik assumes Lydia is like any other Instagram Influencer he's met--vapid, vain, and shallower than a shower--but he's never been more wrong. Tasked with driving her to and from errands and events, he can't help but notice how she's slowly gotten under his skin--and that terrifies him.
Lydia Pierson didn't plan on turning into a hermit after she got into a car accident, but the fear of driving keeps her firmly in her old bedroom at her parents' house, hiding from the world. When her father introduces her to Erik as essentially a glorified babysitter, she can't believe it. He's too grumpy, he's too quiet and way too tall. They're practically oil and water. But, the more time she spends with him, she sees that underneath his surly, cranky attitude, he's hurting from something. Even though they spend more time fighting than talking, maybe she can help him to heal from his old wounds and look forward to the future.
First of all, I absolutely love [a:Karla Sorensen|13563232|Karla Sorensen|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1497639455p2/13563232.jpg], and getting to return to the world of the Washington Wolves was absolutely fantastic. I'm a sucker for a good fake-dating trope, as well as a Grump/Sunshine relationship, and The Plan has both of these (as well as a great age gap relationship--another one of my favorites). I can't get over how much I loved this book. Lydia and Erik's chemistry was electric and absolutely jumped off the page. I genuinely have no complaints or wish anything was different (other than I wish it was longer)! I'll absolutely be reading more of Karla Sorensen's books, and can't wait to revisit the men of the Washington Wolves football team!
