We as a society need more books about lusty bisexual vampire polycules.
This book is beautifully written and carefully, tactfully crafted, showing all the complexities and contradicitons of toxic/abusive relationships. Everything—from Constanta's deepest thoughts, to the vibrant cities, to the developing bonds between the characters—is all clearly written with passion and with love. It was extremely difficult to put this book down.
As a relentless lover of vampires, this has been by far one of my favorite portrayals of vampires that I've seen in recent years. This book feels like a love letter, not only to Dracula, but to vampire fiction as a whole.
I've already read An Education in Malice, and this is my favorite of the two. I'm looking forward to anything Gibson puts out in the future.
