Wretched
by Emily McIntire
I have once again left my review for DAYS after having finished the book. This time I have an excuse though, but it involves a far too long and convoluted story about how neurospicy I am about the setup of my PC which was drastically altered the day after I finished this book and it took me over a day to get everything back to the way I like it.
ANYWAY.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!! It was WORLDS better than the first (Hooked) and yes, I completely skipped the second book in this series (Scarred). Bite me. I listened to the first couple chapters on audio and just wasn't vibing with it.
I LOVE that SHE is the dark one in this story. I don't have a wide array of experience in this genre so every time I read something new and exciting, it's the first time I'm reading something like it. So the fact that SHE was the morally dark one and HE was the innocent, bright-eyed, and terrified one... I ate it up!! I also feel like in dark romances, it's usually the MMC who has the dark past and the complex life and it's the FMC who is kinda just getting tailed along. So, it was refreshing to see SUCH a fleshed out FMC with just a himbo to fall in love with her. I loved it.
