Maaaaaan I wanted to love this more!! 3.5 stars⭐️
But I think it’s me, not the book😩 Personally I struggle through second chance stories that have a lot of flashbacks. I felt more invested in the present day plot and often found myself hurrying to get back to those chapters.
It also felt like there was a lack of emotional build up, due to the main characters already knowing each other from childhood. I wish there had been more build up or emotional depth in the present storyline, but I fear the story relied on the characters history and the flashbacks for that.
That being said, I read this in 2 days😅 Liz’s writing is addictive and still a fun read. I also enjoyed Hallie and Rio as individuals, even if parts of their chemistry felt off or not as deep as the other couples.
