Across the Green Grass Fields by Seanan McGuire

3.0

3.5 stars.

I went in expecting a bad read but I was pleasantly surprised. Seanan McGuire does have a way with magical realism.

This was kind of an anti-fairy tale. The protagonist hates the idea of being a hero and never ends up being one at the end. This was also a book on her journey to self acceptance. I liked watching Reagan grow and learn.

The reason for my low rating is that there’s no solid plot in this. Nothing really happened and the book only ended cuz it had to end at some point.
